Looking to island hop? This summer Island Air relaunched its service from Honolulu to Kona, giving you one more option for exploring the Big Island. Added bonus? Other airlines lowered their interisland prices in response. Current sample fair for a weekend? $72 one way.

Inspired by these fares we decided to take a closer look at our neighbor, Hawaii, and have created the perfect weekend agenda.

Destination: Kona.

Activities & Adventure

Big Island in One Day: There’s a lot to see and do on the Big Island. This day-long tour will take you to thundering waterfalls, beautiful black sandy beaches and Hawaii Volcanos National Park to explore the landscape of steam. Keep an eye out for green turtles basking on the coast or lava flowing through the rocks.

Night Snorkel with Manta Rays: This might sound pretty crazy but we promise you this is worth it. Hop on an evening boat, put on your snorkeling gear and see Manta Rays glide under you doing vertical flips in the water. Don’t worry, Mantas only eat microscopic plankton.
