The National Association of REALTORS® said in a new report that Chinese are now the top foreign buyers of domestic properties. Asian buyers accounted for 35% of all international purchases of U.S. real estate for the 12-month period ending in March 2015, spending more than $28 billion. Chinese buyers have been particularly active in high-end markets, such as New York City, the Bay Area and Southern California.

Once again, Coldwell Banker is right where it needs to be. Not only does it have hundreds of offices in Asian countries, making it a familiar, trusted real estate brand, it has a tremendous network of Asian real estate specialists in the U.S., as well as vast resources, both of which help overseas Asian buyers with their real estate needs.

That knowledge, strength and skill is proudly on display at this year’s Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) national convention on October 22-24—for which Coldwell Banker is a major sponsor.

Several Coldwell Banker Independent Sales Associates, Managers and members of the leadership team are in San Francisco, also the birthplace of Coldwell Banker, for AREAA’s event, including panelist Mike James, President of Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties.

The Western Region Relocation Department is also at the convention, hosting a booth to encourage a continued focus on domestic and international referrals, and Kathy Denning, Regional Western Region Vice President of Relocation, is speaking on the “Relocation Specialists” panel.

To open the festivities, Coldwell Banker’s very own Don Cruz Datanagan, General Sales Manager for Coldwell Banker, Powered by Zip, wowed the crowd with his rendition of the National Anthem.

And we’re proud to announce that at Saturday’s Installation Gala, Vice President of Luxury Craig Hogan will be appointed as Chair of the 2016 AREAA Luxury Summit.

Other Gen Blue highlights include:

  • Roh Habibi, star of Million Dollar Listing San Francisco and a Sales Associate in the San Francisco Pacific Heights office, speaking on the ““Becoming Luxury: How to Establish Your Presence” panel
  • Las Vegas Sales Associate Hanna Dam speaking on the panel, “Reaching the Asian American Homebuyer”
