One of the many things I love about living in Hawaii is the ease of hopping into a plane and taking a short flight to another island.

Away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu to the lush Garden Isle, Kauai, was where my friends and I decided to take our recent mini vacation.

I have never been to Kauai, so I was very excited for the change in scenery. Having just three days to visit the island, our itinerary was jammed packed with activities and taking in the natural beauty Kauai has to offer.

Here are some of my favorite spots and activities:

  • Waimea Canyon (also known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific) offers panoramic views of the valley, gorges and waterfalls.
  • Aerial tour of the island. By Helicopter or AirVan tour, both options will give you great aerial views of the island.
  • Boat cruise to the Na Pali Coast. Located on the North Shore of the island featuring gorgeous waterfalls and mountain cliffs.
  • Mountain Tubing on Kauai’s Hanamaulu ditch system consisting of a series of canals and tunnels.

This is a vacation after all, so we made time to also take in the island cuisine and the beautiful beaches. All told it was a fabulous trip and I can’t wait for my next island jaunt.

Please enjoy some of my trip photos below and let me know what you’re favorite things are to do when in Kauai – I’ll definitely add them to my to-do list!
