Only in Hawaii will you find the celebration of Lei Day. Celebrated every year on May 1, it became an official holiday in the U.S. territory of Hawaii in 1929. Throughout the islands this unique holiday is celebrated with various events and festivals that feature: Hawaiian music, hula demonstrations of lei making, and other activities that enrich and bring awareness to the culture of the Hawaiian lei.

On Oahu, the big celebration takes place annually at the Queen Kapiolani Regional Park Bandstand. The day-long event includes various local entertainers, a lei contest exhibit, craft and food vendors, and more. For more information, click here.
