Coldwell Banker Real Estate became the real estate industry leader in smart home technology by developing strong business alliances with tech leaders, including LG, Nest, Lutron, August, Alarm.com and the smart home industry trade group, CEDIA, as well as a major, multi-faceted sponsorship with CNET, the world’s largest and most trusted online source of consumer technology news and reviews. Now, the company is taking its smart-home expertise even further with the launch of two new programs.
Last May, the company announced a first-of-its-kind smart home education curriculum available exclusively for the Coldwell Banker® brand and its affiliated brokers and agents. Created in partnership with CEDIA, the curriculum will be offered by a CEDIA instructor through Coldwell Banker University.
“We believe it is our responsibility to ensure that Coldwell Banker’s affiliated agents are the foremost experts in every aspect of the home,” said Charlie Young, president and chief executive officer of Coldwell Banker Real Estate, LLC. “As ambassadors to the home, it is imperative for agents to learn about smart home products and provide exceptional advice for home buyers interested in smart home integration.”
The curriculum will provide an extensive look into the evolution of home technology and recent rise of the smart home, with a focus on how smart home products are changing the way we live in and interact with our homes. This program will equip participating agents with the skills needed to advise buyers looking to invest in a smart home and sellers looking to stage and showcase their smart homes.
More recently, Coldwell Banker announced the introduction of a Smart Home Staging Kit, which will be offered to sellers who list their homes with Coldwell Banker.
The Smart Home Staging Kit, available on the Worthington Group’s smart home staging website, SmartHomeStaging.com, gives sellers the opportunity to enhance their homes and meet the guidelines of the newly released Smart Home Definition, which was jointly developed by Coldwell Banker and CNET, in order to market their homes as a Smart Home.
The kit includes:
- Nest Learning Thermostat
- Nest Protect smoke and carbon monoxide alarm
- Nest Cam Indoor security camera
- August Smart Lock
- August Connect
- Lutron® Caséta® Wireless Lighting Starter Kit
Products can be purchased as a complete kit or separately as individual items. Worthington is offering clients of Coldwell Banker-affiliated sales associates a promotional rate of $999 for the complete kit. Consumers can also opt-in for installation by Pro.com service providers or elect other service providers of their choice.
What a great way to take advantange of the smart home trend!
