It’s true. Summertime is the best time. In Hawaii we enjoy beautiful warm weather nearly 365 days a year. But still, there’s something about summertime that seems to be everyone’s favorite time of year. School’s out and kids love that. Barbecues, vacations, and great times spent with family and friends — that’s what summertime is all about.
As far as the real estate business, we love this time of year, too. It’s the market’s best season, a time to take advantage of the surge in activity and get your home sold, and for the best price. And whether you’re buying or selling, this is when folks really get serious. Offers are made and countered, rejected and accepted. It’s the time of year when we really get down to business — and there’s no better reward for us at Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties than seeing a sale through to a successful closing, and handing the keys to the new owner.
So open up the sliders and show how your home’s outdoor spaces live — with cozy seating areas, inviting dining areas, outdoor kitchens, pools, and maybe your beautiful garden. Providing ice-cold drinks and refreshing summertime pupus is nice and a great way to keep buyers interested in your open houses, and, for them to envision how perfect it is to entertain in the space. All year long, the most common question I hear from buyers is: When is the best time to buy? And I always tell them the same thing. When we live on an island, there is a finite amount of land. Will Rogers once said it best, “Buy real estate, ‘cause they ain’t makin’ any more of it.”
Not only that, but in Hawaii, we have a steady stream of mainland and international investors — no matter how quickly we build more houses and more condos, there always seems to be a shortage. And, yes, prices do go up and down, but over time, historically they always go up. So now is the best time to buy. You can’t go back in time, to buy when prices were cheap. But if you wait, they’ll likely be higher. So what are you waiting for?
Owning your own home is a fantastic feeling. It is something to be proud of. What an accomplishment! Are there obstacles every buyer needs to overcome? Details to be handled? Pit-falls to be avoided? Sure. But our Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties agents are experienced and can help you get over these hurdles and into a home.
Take a look through the July/August issue of Island Homes Collection — our cover home, on the hillside in Lanikai, and the featured home sitting right at the base of Diamond Head. These homes are what real estate dreams are made of. Spectacular. Truly paradise. But you don’t need to spend millions to feel like you’ve hit the real estate jackpot. Wouldn’t it be great to host your next barbecue in your own home? There will be a lot of happy buyers doing just that when this year’s summer selling season comes to a close. And standing right next to the happiest of them will be an agent from Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties.
